The MOS6502 is an 8-bit microcontroller
launched in 1975. It was one of the ea-
rliest affordable microcontrollers, and
played a big role in the popularization
of home computing.

Fast forward about 50 years, and I be-
came interested in the MCU. For me, the
6502 scratches some of the same crea-
tive itches as the brilliant games made
by Zachtronics, and programming and
working with the chip feels like sol-
ving a very enjoyable puzzle.

My first introduction to the 6502 was,
like many others, through Ben Eaters vi-
deos on the subject. I got his 6502 kit
for christmas, and built it up. The
breadboards has been lying on my desk
ever since, though I'm working on a more
robust PCB-based computer. I'm sure I'll
get around to finishing that aaaaany day
now!
